Today (2oth August, 2023), I want to share an inspiring journey that began with a mere $500 and a conversation with an artificial intelligence. Within a few months, this venture transformed into a business generating 6.69 million LKR (approximately $20,769.44 USD). Let’s delve into the details.
The Beginning
In March 2023, I felt a strong urge to embark on a new business venture. With $500 in hand and a world of possibilities ahead, I turned to ChatGPT, a sophisticated AI, for guidance. It presented several business ideas, ranging from blogging to eCommerce. However, none truly resonated with my aspirations.
After providing ChatGPT with more insight into my skills and interests, it suggested a productized service business. This idea struck a chord, and by April 1st, 2023, my new business was born.
The Initial Challenges
Every business has its fair share of challenges, and mine was no exception. Setting up processes, streamlining operations, and automating tasks required considerable effort. But with ChatGPT’s consistent guidance, I managed to navigate these hurdles. By mid-May, I celebrated the onboarding of my first client. Today, I’m proud to share that I earn an average of 4,200 USD monthly from this venture. Considering it demands less than two hours of my day, it’s a significant achievement, especially in a country like Sri Lanka where the average GDP per capita hovers around $3,500 USD.
Evolving The Business
Initially, my focus was on content-related services. However, as inquiries began pouring in, I noticed a recurring theme: a demand for AI automation services. Recognizing this trend, I expanded my offerings to include these services. Today, they constitute a major portion of my revenue.
Interestingly, most of my clientele are from Australia, followed closely by Sri Lanka. My website has also gained traction, attracting over 700 organic visitors every month. In terms of marketing, Google Ads has proven invaluable, with word of mouth and social media platforms like TikTok also playing crucial roles.
Looking Ahead
My ambitions don’t stop here. I aim to elevate this business to a staggering 100 million LKR by the end of next year. The potential is vast, and with strategic planning, I believe this goal is within reach. Once this milestone is achieved, I might consider offering the business to someone passionate about AI-driven ventures. While this business doesn’t demand excessive time, it certainly benefits from innovative thinking.
This journey, from a humble $500 to a thriving business, has been nothing short of remarkable. It stands as a testament to the power of determination, innovation, and the right guidance.
